  Hepatitis C drug fights virus in new way

effective at suppressing the virus in chimpanzees and kept working for

  GSK warn US doctors of possible association between fosamprenavir and heart attack

Healthcare providers in the US have been notified of a possible
connection between treatment with the protease inhibitor fosamprenavir
(Lexiva in the US, Telzir in Europe) and heart attack. There is also a
caution that therapy with the drug can cause increases in cholesterol.

  HIV patients' use of health care system on rise due to diseases of ageing

HIV-positive patients are beginning to utilise more health care system
time for conditions such as cardiovascular disease, a Danish study
published in the online edition of AIDS suggests. The researchers
believe that this is likely to be because of the ageing of patients
with HIV.

  Erectile dysfunction common in men with HIV, PIs a cause 
  Treatment Friday 04 December 2009
					
  
The majority of HIV-positive men receiving care in a Spanish HIV clinic
had erectile dysfunction, Spanish investigators report in a study
published in the online edition of AIDS. Older age and treatment with
protease inhibitors were both significantly associated with erectile
problems.
